Big Dipper 2008

Seventy runners took part in this year’s race, forty of them representing local clubs. Many came for the competition, some for the exercise and others simply for the free tea and cakes at the finish. After the children’s races which were well contested, the fog lifted in time to provide beautiful sunshine for the main event. The undulating course and warm conditions did not seem to worry Matt James and Alison Cooke, both of Hereford Couriers, who won the men’s and lady’s races respectively. Others took longer to admire the views on this scenic course but all were rewarded by a free sports towel at the finish. Many thanks to all the marshalls and helpers who made this such an enjoyable event and the organisers are also grateful to their sponsors: Knights Accountants, Saymor Furnishers, Newent Auto Centre, Watson Petroleum, Fleetcare Services, Air Comfort, Chaseview Veterinary Clinic and some who wished to remain anonymous.
